Longtime boater Gary Butler recently purchased the Sunsation 29CCX sport center console and took advantage of good weather over the Memorial Day weekend to enjoy his new boat with family and friends on Oklahoma’s Lake Eufaula. American Performance Media had the opportunity to speak with Gary about his experience.

    Gary:
” My previous boat was the 288, so I already knew about the quality and performance of Sunsation. When I first saw the 29CCX, I immediately knew that this design would be an even more perfect fit for my family and the time we spend on the water.”

Gary’s neighbors wasted no time coming down to his dock to check out the sleek new center console with custom paint scheme and impressive twin 300HP Mercury Verado engines.

    Gary:
” We enjoyed a full three days on the water, everything from high speed runs with six of my buddies on board, to what I called the “Ladies Cruise” with just the wives. The guys were impressed with the acceleration and top speed while the girls enjoyed the smooth ride and front lounge seating. The kids had a blast tubing. At one point we had 13 kids on board and each took turns on the tube being towed on our way to get ice cream. Having the tow eye mounted on the top makes the 29CCX the perfect tow boat.

Spring weather is just getting started in the area and the lake is still experiencing a moderate to heavy chop. But the rougher than normal water conditions did not seem to have any negative effects on the boat’s performance or the weekend’s activities.

    Gary:
Monday, we used the boat like you would a car for the whole day. From going to breakfast with friends at one end of the lake to dinner near the opposite end. At a cruising speed of between 45-48 mph, the boat averaged 2.4 mpg most of the day. At one point, with a 3/4 tank of gas, two couples and four kids, the boat was able to top out at a little over 73 mph. And oh, by the way, going to dinner we dusted off two center consoles and a 26′ Baja. I love this boat!
